The minimum cut-off required in CAT 2008 for getting GD/PI calls for admissions to IIMs are out. The percentage cut off is different for each IIM, and the criteria used to select candidates for GD/PI also varies across IIMs. Here is a detailed selection criteria used across the seven IIMs.
XAT 2009 comprised of 3 sections, and a total of 104 questions. The section wise split was - Verbal and Logical Ability (VA and LR) : 35, DI and Quants : 38, Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making : 31. The XAT 2009 can be termed as medium to high in terms of difficulty level. The DI and Quants section was the most difficult of them, as per feedback from most XAT takers.
CAT 2008 had total 90 questions.The section wise split was - DI and LR: 25, Quant: 25 and Verbal: 40. The CAT 2008 paper can be termed as medium in terms of difficulty level. The marked difference from previous years CAT was an increase in number of questions in Verbal(Engligh) Section
FMS 2009 had total 175 questions .The section wise split was - Quantitative Aptitude: 49, Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 49, RC: 35 and English Usage: 42. The paper this year was lengthier and much difficult as compared to last year's paper. The paper also had a number of errors especially in the quantitative section.
NMAT 2008 had total 150 questions.The section wise split was - Quantitative Ability: 60, Logical Reasoning: 50 and Language Skills: 40. The paper this year was similar to last year's paper in terms of difficulty level.
JMET 2008 had total of 4 sections with overall 120 questions .The section wise split was - Quant: 30, Logical Reasoning: 30, Verbal: 30 and DI: 30. The paper was quite easy across sections QA & DI , while VA & LR sections were moderately difficult.
IIFT 2008 had total of 6 sections with overall 150 questions .The section wise split was - Quant: 27, Logical Reasoning: 32, RC: 12, English Usage: 23, General Awareness: 30 and DI: 26. The paper was very similar to IIFT-2007 paper. However, Decision Making questions were absent from Logical Reasoning section this year.
SNAP 2008 had total 135 questions.The section wise split was - Quant, DS & DI: 35, Analytical & Logical Reasoning: 30, General English: 35 and General Awareness: 35. As compared to last year's paper, the total number of questions were decreased to 135 from 150 but there was a differential marking within the sections. Difficulty level was almost the same as previous year's level.
