Overall

IIFT 2008 had total of 6 sections with overall 150 questions .The section wise split was - Quant: 27, Logical Reasoning: 32, RC: 12, English Usage: 23, General Awareness: 30 and DI: 26. The paper was very similar to last year's paper. Decision Making questions were absent from Logical Reasoning section this year.

Quantitative Ability

The questions in this section ranged from Algebra, Arithmetic, Geomtery & Mensuration, Numbers, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Statistics and Trigonometry. This paper maintained the high standard of quantitative ability section. There was a definite stress on probability and permutation combination, which accounted for 9 questions in the paper.

DI & Logical Reasoning

The DI section was a mix of average and difficult questions. Data given in all the sets in this section were easy to comprehend and questions were direct, but calculations were tedious. Logical Reasoning section was a bit easy.

Reading Comprehension & English Usage

The RC passages were lengthier but quite simple. The questions in English Usage section comprised Vocabulary, Grammar, Usage and Para jumbles. Difficulty level ranged from easy to average.

General Awareness

GA section tested the knowledge of geography, current literary events as well as current affairs. The emphasis was more on current GK, rather than business GK.
