XAT

XAT, acronym for Xavier Admission Test is a national level admission test conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur to select students for admission to management courses.There are 60 other Management Institutes who select students from XAT. XAT 2009 is being conducted for admission to the following programs: 

  • Two Year Post Graduate Program in B M and in P M & I R
  • One year General Management Program
  • Four year Fellow Program in Management
Important Dates

Last date for registration for XAT 2009: Nov 30, 2008.
Last date for receiving completed forms and DD: Dec 05, 2008
Date of XAT 2009: Jan 04, 2009
Test Timings: 10:00am to 12:30pm.
Results: Jan 31, 2009.
Test Pattern XAT

XAT is an objective paper consisting of multiple-choice questions. There are four alternative answers for each question. One mark is awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the test paper is 2 hours and there is an essay paper of 20 minutes. The objective paper comprises three sections:

  • Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability
  • Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Data Interpretation
  • General Awareness.
There is a time limit of 40 minutes for each section.
